The tokenization of real world assets through NFT technology has started to become more commonplace and it has revolutionized how we view NFTs in the industry. Some of the most common examples include the tokenization of real estate via fractional ownership and the ability to offer proof of ownership of real-world assets. Projects like Palmyra DEX are even working on the tokenization of commodities, such as tea and gold.

In turn, this facilitates the streamlining of the trade process, thereby reducing fraud and enhancing the integrity of finance for trade transactions.”

NFTs Beyond Art: Tokenizing Real-World Assets for Global Accessibility

Until recently, ownership of an asset referred to physically owning something or at least having something written on a piece of paper that was representative of said ownership. With the seemingly endless digitization of nearly everything these days, the concept of ownership has begun to change in a revolutionary way. 

## What are NFTs?

NFT stands for non fungible token. A [non fungible token](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-fungible_token) is “a unique digital identifier that is recorded on a blockchain, and is used to certify ownership and authenticity. It cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided. The ownership of an NFT is recorded in the blockchain and can be transferred by the owner, allowing NFTs to be sold and traded.” Depending on the blockchain, it is given a sort of unique token identification number. This is important because if someone decides to attempt to sell an NFT that looks identical, the unique token identification number will confirm which one is real and which one is fake. 

## Why are NFTs Revolutionizing Ownership Within the Digital World?

Within NFTs, there are many layers of never before seen technology that are not only changing the way people own assets, but also changing the way they are bought, sold, and transferred. As was alluded to earlier, one of the most important technological aspects of NFTs are token IDs. This aids in preventing fraudulent acts when buying, selling or transferring an asset from one person to another. For example, a common scam is the selling of fake concert or sports tickets. Bad actors will often stand outside of a stadium and offer to sell discounted tickets to a show or event. After purchasing a ticket and reaching the ticket gate to enter the event, people find out they were sold a fake ticket that looked exactly like the real one. With NFT technology, this is preventable because tickets that are sold with a unique identification code (mint address on Ergo) will immediately distinguish a real ticket from a fake. 

There is also the concept of royalties within NFTs. Most NFT technology supports royalty payments when assets are resold, thereby offering an additional revenue source for an NFT creator. Smart contracts embedded in NFTs enable the process of distributing royalties when an asset is resold, ensuring that artists profit from the rising value of their creations. 

## Speculation on NFT Mass Adoption and Future Utility

What potential use cases could NFTs have on a global scale? One of the biggest areas of conversation is the digitization of real estate. NFTs can potentially provide the real estate industry with significant benefits, such as the simplification of transactions, facilitating fractional ownership, and offering easier ways to buy and sell properties globally. The fractional ownership of real estate through NFTs is already being executed by an NFT project on Cardano called [Platypus Cyberpunks](https://whimsy.gitbook.io/paddle-pond-papers-1.0/platform/introduction).

The digitization of real estate involving NFTs is extremely intriguing but does have potential drawbacks due to potential smart contract bugs or computer hacks. There may also be regulatory pushback and legal issues due to the lack of clarity on security laws in certain jurisdictions around the world. Nonetheless, NFTs offer a unique way of handling real estate ownership in the future if these issues can be worked out. 

Another use case of NFTs is the tokenization and traceability of commodities, such as tea or gold. This is currently being explored by a project on Ergo called [zenGate Global](https://www.zengate.global/). The COO of zenGate, Sam Lambert, states that “The tokenization of real-life assets is the next evolution for NFTs. Through this, we will see the next wave of customers on boarded from outside the blockchain industry.” 

The zenGate team [states](https://medium.com/@zenGate/the-benefits-of-non-fungible-tokens-nfts-in-the-supply-chain-of-commodities-841bc50d9c9d) that “NFTs can [also] be used in the supply chain of commodities to represent physical assets such as metals, minerals, and agricultural products. Each NFT represents a specific asset, and its ownership can be transferred on the blockchain. This means that the authenticity and ownership of the asset can be verified at every stage of the supply chain, from production to consumption. Lastly, other metadata can be collected (e.g certifications, credentials) that can be linked to the NFT to ensure that the asset was produced ethically and sustainably.” 

The zenGate team explain in their [medium article](https://medium.com/@zenGate/the-benefits-of-non-fungible-tokens-nfts-in-the-supply-chain-of-commodities-841bc50d9c9d) that NFTs can aid in automating asset ownership transfers in the supply chain, thereby cutting out intermediaries, increasing efficiency, and reducing costs. They also enable real-time tracking of commodities, reduce delays and help stakeholders respond swiftly to changing demand. NFTs have the potential to also support regulatory compliance by providing a transparent record of a commodity's journey to ensure it meets safety, quality, and environmental standards. Additionally, they establish trust by certifying the commodity's quality, reducing disputes, and enhancing the reliability of the commodities supply chain - which ultimately benefits all stakeholders.

## Conclusion

While many still associate NFTs with JPEGs of monkeys selling for thousands of dollars, it is evident that NFTs have the potential to represent a much deeper sense of utility in the world. NFTs relating to collectibles, art, real estate, commodity markets and so much more are actively revolutionizing the way authenticity and ownership are being handled. Additionally, NFTs are also changing the way assets are bought, sold and transferred. In a world that is becoming increasingly digital, NFTs are sure to play a crucial role in redefining what it means to own something.

Ergo and NFTs: Revolutionizing Ownership in the Digital World

## History of Auction House

A quote from the lead developer and founder of the [Auction House](https://ergoauctions.org/), Anon_real: 

>“[The] Auction House is the first NFT marketplace on Ergo, up and running since October 2020. It has been tested and used for around two years. Multiple bug fixes have been done and two versions (V1 & V2) have been released. The website is currently stable and its smart-contracts are pretty reliable.
The most important aspect of the current running version of Auction House is that it is completely decentralized. Artworks and auctions are all implemented inside the users’ browser according to the EIP-22 and EIP-24 standards. We continue our way to stay fully decentralized, as it is one of our core values at Auction House.”

In keeping with the ethos of Ergo, anyone can buy and sell their NFTs on the marketplace regardless of collection verification. This has pros and cons. On one hand, decentralization is flourishing on the Auction House, but on the other, users need to be careful about knowing their assumptions by not buying fake NFTs. The safest way to  avoid buying counterfeit NFTs is by double checking that the mint address of the NFT matches the collection’s mint address. That being said, Auction House V3 offers some improvements for assisting buyers with confirming the authenticity of an NFT.

## What Improvements does Auction House V3 have Over its Previous Version?

The Auction House will not only have a variety of important [improvements](https://docs.google.com/document/u/1/d/e/2PACX-1vTNbjMPcJnDYQWtQ5CGkYpd5QUhEN6sBrm7y5DXTu_YgV8CwWguS0VzXDKv8qbB2YbwiVz-cc6dFmF8/pub), but several new features as well. The primary focus of V3 is to enhance the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) by providing a more intuitive and enjoyable trading platform. Notable additions to the platform include the introduction of collections (which follow the EIP-34 standard) and a launchpad feature that will enable artists to schedule and promote upcoming collection releases. 

Auction House V3 is also deploying a new collection verification standard so that the buyer is able to recognize legitimate collections from fake collections (if there are any fakes listed on the website). 

According to the Auction House team, security and transparency remain a key priority and the dApp will offer full transparency with open-source smart contracts and community-reviewed auction types. 

Bulk minting has been implemented in V3 to simplify collection creation, and the inclusion of traits and filtering based on the EIP-24 artwork standard allows users to refine their search. Another exciting feature will include support for buy offers. This will allow buyers to make offers on artwork that is not listed for sale. 

The Auction house will also support three new listing types for artists:

- Fixed Price Listings
- Highest Bid Auctions
- Dutch Auctions 


These new listing types will give artists and buyers alike new options for buying and selling NFTs. 

## Tokenomics and Utility

Because the dApp performed an IDO with ErgoPad, Auction House has its own token (AHT) which offers several functions within the platform.

These include:

### 1. Promotion
Users can showcase their artwork on the landing page, listings, and launchpad auctions.

### 2. Reward
Buyers and sellers can earn ATH as a reward at a rate of 5% per transaction. These rewards are determined by taking the numeric value of an asset's price and calculating 5% of that amount. For instance, if an asset is listed for 100 ERG, both the seller and buyer would receive 5 ATH each.

### 3. Profit Sharing
AHT can be staked via ErgoPad to earn a share of Auction House's profit. Auction House derives profit from artwork sales at 2% on the final price.

The Auction House team has stated that:

>“We will devote 30% of Auction House profit to our stakers. The distribution period and details are yet to be decided on. Initially we will distribute this 30% in an automatic but centralized fashion since there is not a working solution as of today on Ergo blockchain. Later on, as ErgoPad releases Paideia, we will use it to make this process decentralized.”

One of Ergo’s most popular community dApps has recently released a suite of new features in Auction House V3. Developed by Anon_real, the Auction House was the first NFT market place on Ergo, enabling users the ability to buy and sell NFTs in a decentralized manner.

Auction House V3 Launches on Mainnet

During the weekend of Oct. 7-10, the Cardano cNFT conference was held in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This event was obviously a Cardano-centric conference, however projects from other blockchains (including Ergo) were in attendance promoting their respective work. 

The cNFT conference offered a solid breadth of some of the projects that are building on the Cardano network. Attendees were treated to presentations and panel discussions by some of the biggest projects and names, including Charles Hoskinson. Ergo NFT’s were also well represented with one of the community's most popular NFT projects in attendance. The ERGnomes creator, known on Twitter as Foeniculum, was one of the booth presenters and had their art and ERGnome swag on full display for attendees. Ergo Foundation board member, Joseph Armeanio, and Ergo Foundation Advisor, Dan Friedman, were also in attendance and had set up booths representing Ergo and Dan’s company, zenGate Global.

During the scheduled events, Ergo and zenGate shared a mainstage slot and took the opportunity to present information with the audience about the two projects. Sam Lambert (representing zenGate) elaborated on how zenGate Global is designing a cross-chain commercial application on Ergo and Cardano, with a particular focus on building out a commodities DEX. zenGate will provide access to physical assets through NFT’s and in turn, token holders will be able to provide financing to businesses on their platform. At present, zenGate has finished the UX build and has partnered with a company in Thailand to begin testing. Lambert shared that interested parties can expect a full launch in about a year.

Armeanio took the time to explain some of the principles behind Ergo and why the platform is attractive for developers. He highlighted how Ergo’s strong commitment to open source development paves the way for a stronger blockchain platform. Citing the evolution of Ethereum, he noted that one of its greatest strengths was the adoption of open source code and tool kits for developers. The barrier for entry for Solidity lowered so that people with ideas could build on Ethereum. With Ergo’s eUTXO model and unique technological features, Armeanio talked about how he is looking forward to seeing Ergo “cookbooks” for smart contracts, scaling, and other developer tools. He encouraged new developers to take a look at the Ergo Platform and the regular hackathons that are hosted by the Ergo Foundation. In closing, he talked about the strength of the Ergo community and how core developers are constantly working with the community to audit and review open source work. Armeanio left the audience with the following thought on Ergo and open source development: “if you build public infrastructure, everyone benefits.”

cNFTcon: Ergo on the Mainstage

The Cardano cNFT conference was recently held in Las Vegas at the Convention Center from Oct. 7-10. Although it was primarily an opportunity for Cardano NFT projects to highlight their work, other projects, including Ergo, were in attendance. The Ergo Foundation’s Editor made the trip to Las Vegas and visited the Ergo, zenGate Global, and ERGnomes booths. 

cNFTcon: Ergo on the Mainstage


In October 2020, NFTs on the Ergo blockchain were launched. Looking back, it seems incredible how so much has been achieved in barely a year and a half. In the early days of Ergo NFTs, it was thanks to the work of the developer known as anon_real that artists could easily (and cheaply) mint their works and auction them to the highest bidder.

In February of 2021, the first Ergo NFT contest was announced, with prizes totaling 2000 ERG. A few months later, anon_real delighted the community with V2 of the Auction House, enabling artists to collect royalties, set up copyright protections, and even allow the possibility for bids to use custom tokens.

Enter SkyHarbor. Why the need for another Ergo NFT marketplace?

The developer behind the Ergosaurs ENFT line, known as Crypto Quokka, realized that a number of prospective ENFT buyers were either unwilling, or unable, to interact with any interface that wasn’t as simple as clicking a button to complete a transaction.

He enlisted the help of developers HazeyOneKenobi (part of the Ergnomes team, among others) and Krasavice Blasen to collaborate on building Skyharbor.

Even though Skyharbor is still in beta, it is already fully functional.

SkyHarbor Features:

* **Artist verification:** NFT artists “register” their information in the marketplace and, once verified, the NFTs are listed under their respective collections.
* **Instant transactions:** buying, selling and trading are as easy as clicking on a button.
* **Speed:** the transaction speed itself is greatly improved - the team is implementing chained transactions.
* **It enables royalty payments:** artists can set royalties for their work and get paid every time their work is resold on the secondary market. It is worth noting that both  SkyHarbor and the Auction House allow artists to set royalties.

The success and mass appeal of this new marketplace can not be denied; at the time of writing it is generating 5% of all Ergo transactions.

So, why is SkyHarbor still in beta?

It is due to the fact that the team is still hard at work to bring even more improvements and never-seen-before features to the ENFT space.

Future SkyHarbor Features:

* **Marketplace data:** this will allow both artists and buyers to keep track of the price history of NFTs.
* **Developing documentation** to enable smart contracts and marketplace API to be used by anyone.
* **Create a mass minter.** Currently, NFTs on Ergo can only be minted one at a time, but concrete steps are being taken to develop a tool that will allow for mass minting.
* **Vending machine:** SkyHarbor is working on its own vending machine. This will be an interface through which buyers can buy any number of ENFTs - with or without a predetermined maximum limit. The vending machine’s interface will specify the amount of ERG and wallet address, and once the buyer has completed the transaction, they receive the ENFTs in their wallet.

A lot of these tools do not yet exist. The SkyHarbor team believes that once they do, ENFTs will finally have the mass appeal that NFT collections on other chains currently enjoy.

According to Quokka, Ergo could handle the 10000 NFT drops we now see on Cardano. He even argues that this could be achieved with fewer congestion and drop issues. Ergo has already proven its ability to withstand high traffic drops. HazeyOneKenobi was part of the team that engineered the previous mass drops of the first Season of Ergnomes and Gnomekins.

SkyHarbor and its ability to offer artists a clean and seamless experience may just be what pushes the broader NFT community to give the ENFT space the attention it deserves. After all, not only can Ergo do everything other chains can, but it can do so without users paying astronomical fees.

Newest Ergo NFT Marketplace Gaining the Attention of Ergonauts

## What is an NFT?

When you have a unit of currency, such as the U.S. dollar, it is interchangeable with any other U.S. dollar. One Euro is the same as any other Euro. Fungible is just another word for interchangeable.

Non-fungible means unique. One house is not the same as another, even if their prices are the same. In crypto, non-fungible tokens are singular and cannot be recreated or substituted using any other token. Once a token has been minted, it cannot be recreated - even if it is the same artist or someone attempting to use the same work of art.

We are still in the early stages of understanding and fulfilling the full potential of NFTs. They can be used to represent identity, property, artwork, assets, legal documents and much more. Therefore, NFTs are like digital deeds. When they are on a blockchain, NFTs can be a [store of value](https://taschalabs.com/nft-is-better-than-diamond-heres-why/) because they are limited in supply, durable and a community of buyers and sellers decides their value. With these conditions, NFTs become digital assets which can be traded. As with any kind of trading, traders need a marketplace. ## How to Mint an NFT?

If you want to participate as a creator in the NFT marketplace, you will need to learn how to mint NFTs. To start, there are a few requirements.

## Requirements

* Create an Ergo Wallet in [Ergo Wallet](https://ergoplatform.org/en/mobile_wallets/) (mobile) or use a browser extension wallet like [Yoroi](https://yoroi-wallet.com/) or [Nautilus](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/nautilus-wallet/gjlmehlldlphhljhpnlddaodbjjcchai).  
* Buy ERG, the native cryptocurrency, and transfer it to your wallet from an exchange. (For information on acquiring ERG, please see [the ERG buying guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/ergonauts/wiki/trade)).
* Save a digital file (such as a photograph, piece of music, drawing, etc.) to your computer of the item that is to be made into an NFT. This digital file should be something you created.

## Minting an NFT

For this example, let’s assume we are using Nautilus on Google Chrome. There is 1 ERG in our wallet, and we are making an NFT of a photograph saved as a PNG file on our computer.

1. In your browser, click on the Nautilus wallet, either by clicking on the Nautilus icon (pinned) or by clicking the Puzzle Piece icon (both in the upper right corner of your browser) and selecting Nautilus wallet from the list.

2. In the Nautilus wallet, click on Receive, the middle icon at the top. Then, copy the default address of your Ergo Wallet.

3. Go the The Ergo Auction House website, <https://ergoauctions.org/>
4. In the upper right hand corner, click on the wallet icon.

5. Click on Any Wallet 
6. Paste your wallet address into the box - this will be the receiving address you copied from your Nautilus wallet. It should be a string of 51 characters that are a mix of numbers and upper and lower case letters. For example: \
   *9g1p6UU8XoAeU4yGPLpbTHYiG8aBHwfCFzQqJZrfzuLnmF3zb7P* 
7. Then, click the Save button.
8. You will be returned to the main Ergo Auction web page.
9. Click the Add button, which is the first icon in the top right corner. Then, select Create Artwork from the pull-down menu.

10. In the “Creating new item” dialog box, drag & drop your photograph in PNG format to the artwork section. Then select a quantity (you have the choice to create one NFT from the image or as many copies as you like). Then, give it a name, a description and select a royalty percentage.
11. Click Issue. 
12. Next, you will be prompted to complete a transaction for the minting of your NFT(s). A screen will appear, providing you with an address and the necessary fees to complete this process:

13. Send the amount of ERG required and your wallet will add the transaction fee of 0.0011, sending a total of 0.0041 ERG. In return, you will receive 0.001 ERG and the newly minted NFT. The total cost for minting this NFT is 0.0031 ERG. 
14. Wait a few minutes for the transaction to be confirmed. Then, go to The Ergo Auction House website and click on Owned Artworks to see your new NFT.

How-to: Minting a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) on the Ergo Blockchain

[The Ergo Auction House](https://ergoauctions.org/) is the open-source, decentralized NFT marketplace on the Ergo blockchain. Whether visual, audio or a custom token, users can list an NFT on Ergo Auctions or search for other NFTs to acquire. The first-ever NFT on Ergo was created almost [a year ago](https://ergoplatform.org/blog/2020-10-19-the-first-ergo-nft-auction-is-under-way/), and Ergo Auction House has been welcoming many artists ever since then. 

We are proud to present the newly revamped Ergo Auction House v2 website with a renovated user interface and new smart contract upgrades.

After many long nights, anon_real has implemented the V2 contracts which allow for **Artist Royalties**, enabling artists to claim a percentage of every resale for their artwork. Users can now mint NFTs and start an auction all from within the same website. Artists will also be glad to hear that Luivatra has integrated a warning in case of a suspected counterfeit of NFTs before bidding. 

Here are only some of the new features:

* Much easier user experience for issuing artworks, starting auctions, and placing bids for both buyers and artists. This is done by supporting the Yoroi dapp connector (currently only works with Yoroi Nighty) and ErgoWallet Android (by easy QR codes)
* Many UI improvements including notifications, in the AH artwork issuance page, owned artworks section, and more.
* Supporting other currencies alongside ERG. Currently, the AH supports ERG, SigUSD, SigRSV, and kushti token (in [@kushti](https://www.ergoforum.org/u/kushti)’s honor) as currencies.
* Royalty feature – artists can set royalty percentages for secondary sales upon issuance.
* Video NFTs.
* Audio NFTs with cover.
* Instant buy option.
* Better design for minimum bid which allows sellers to set the minimum bid amount as high as they wish without actually placing the first bid themselves.

Ergo Auction House V2

The **[Ergo NFT Auction House](https://ergoauctions.org/)** will soon be upgraded to a version that will feature a new user interface as well as important features for protecting artist royalties. The NFT developer team is firmly committed to improving the Ergo NFT experience for both artists and collectors.

Additionally, these updates will introduce artist pages as a new feature. The developer team is also working on a solution that will address and prevent the copycat art issuance problem on Ergo’s blockchain. 

We are witnessing a surge in interest from artists in our community and it is vitally important that they are properly protected and compensated through copyright solutions and royalties, respectively. This is especially important as we push the Ergo Ecosystem further towards mainstream adoption. Ergonauts are launching original NFT series’ on the Ergo Platform and members of the Cardano NFT community have started to list their projects in the Ergo Auction House.

NFTs on Ergo use the extended UTXO model for proof of authenticity. Users can issue potential NFTs using the Ergo Auction House or Ergoutils with their non-custodial wallets (like the Yoroi or Android Wallet). Issued artworks on these platforms are uploaded to IPFS servers and then live on decentralized databases. 

As the Ergo Ecosystem continues to expand, we want to thank all the Ergonauts who support art and the decentralized marketplace for Ergo NFT’s. If you are new to Ergo, here are some of the latest NFT projects you can find on the ecosystem.

The **Ergnomes** team is one of the earliest developers of Ergo NFTs. They issued 477 unique Ergnomes on their first series and subsequently have issued 3000 Gnomekins this Halloween. The most expensive sale from their series was Alex Chepurnoy’s Ergnomes NFT which sold for 1420 ERG.

The next project, **CyberCitizens** is an extension of the team's first project: ErgoPixels. After their succesful first drop, they rebranded as Cybercitizens to fit with the theme and style of their vision. There are 2080 unique CyberCitizens and authenticity can be verifiable on their catalogue. **Cypherkics** are the first sneaker centered NFT project from the Cardano NFT ecosystem. They made a Halloween NFT airdrop in collaboration with ErgoDEX. The team is mainly active in the Cardano NFT (CNFT) space but they also have close relations with the Ergonauts community. ## Step-by-step guide: How to mint NFTs on Ergo

Today, we’re going to show you how to mint your own Non-fungible tokens (NFT) on Ergo. NFTs are the latest craze in the crypto world. They are here to stay, allowing anyone to monetize their digital artworks, improving ownership and rewards for the gaming world, and shaking up many other industries.



As a layer1 project focusing heavily on improving security, scalability, and usability for the world of DeFi, the Ergo team has been working tirelessly on providing the best solutions for NFTs. 



In order to encourage the community to try out the NFT features provided in the Ergo ecosystem, we have [launched a NFT artwork contest](https://ergoplatform.org/blog/2021-02-12-2000-erg-in-prizes-to-be-won-in-the-ergo-digital-art-competition/) and recently [announced the winners](https://ergoplatform.org/blog/2021-03-18-ergo-art-competition-winners-announced/) of the three selected categories. They have received up to 2000 ERG in prizes, split by the winners of three different categories.

### Part 1: Setting up and funding your ERG wallet



**Step 1:** First thing you need is a wallet. We suggest using the Yoroi wallet extension for chrome which is easy to install and to use. Please check this video for more info: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYu-DtGjjWI ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYu-DtGjjWI)



**Step 2:** Once this is done, you’ll need to fund your wallet. Transaction fees associated with NFT issuance is only a couple of cents . You can buy ERGO through multiple exchanges in case you haven’t done so already. Check the exchange that would best fit your needs here, create an account, or login and purchase ERG with fiat or other cryptos. 



**Step 3:** Now that you have acquired ERG, you’ll need to send it to your own wallet. Exchange wallets aren’t suitable for interacting with smart contracts. In Yoroi, navigate to “Receive” and then copy your wallet address. You can do this by clicking the “copy” symbol next to your wallet address.

**Step 4:** On the exchange, go to withdrawals and past your address in the correct field. Withdraw the desired amount and wait for it to be confirmed. This process will vary according to the exchange chosen, and additional KYC/verifications may be needed, so please make sure to check this carefully when choosing your exchange.



**Step 5:** Once the transaction has been initiated and confirmed on the blockchain, you’ll be able to see your balance on the ERG wallet created. You can verify this on the left upper corner. If you cannot see your balance click the “eye” symbol next to “ERG”

## Part 2: Configure your Ergo Utils account wallet

Now that we have successfully created and funded our Ergo wallet, it’s time to configure the Ergo Utilis account. Ergo Utils allows you to perform simple actions, including asset and NFT issuance as well as Airdrop creation through an easy to use graphic user interface. We will be using Ergo Utils to mint our NFT.



**Step 1:** Go to Ergo Utils via this link: <https://ergoutils.org/>



**Step 2:** On the upper left right corner, click “Configure Wallet”

**Step 3:** A Popup window will prompt you to add your ERG address. This step is similar to the one performed in the previous part of the guide. Simply copy your wallet address and paste it in the “Address” field.

Step 4: Confirm that the wallet address has been correctly entered and click “Save”

## Part 3: Mint your NFT

Now it’s time to mint your NFT. While both artwork and audio NFTs can be issued, we’ll use the Artwork NFT 



**Step 1:** On the New Artwork NFT section, click the “+New” button

**Step 2: A pop-up window will prompt you to fill out several fields:**



1. Artwork Name
2. Artwork Description
3. Artwork File



Fill these out accordingly. We will be using a dummy name, description and artwork for the purpose of this tutorial. You can add a link or description of the artwork in the description field depending on how complex the description is. You can also Upload the Artwork if you wish to preserve the image online but this is not required for the purpose of this tutorial.

*Optional:* You may also click “Advanced configuration and choose a higher fee for a faster transaction and an alternative wallet address to send your NFT to. This may be useful to gift an NFT or to send to a predefined wallet you have created for this purpose. 



We will leave both fields as they are which means a 0.1 ERG will be set as the initial value for the NFT along with the transaction fee and which will also be included in the NFT value (totalling 0.11ERG) the NFT will be sent to the wallet used to configure the Utilis account. 



**Step 2:** Click “Issue”



**Step 3:** A pop-up window will prompt you to send a specific amount of ERG (0.112 in our case) to the wallet displayed. This will be done via a smart contract that will receive the funds and automatically issue your NFT. An additional 0.002 ERG fee is paid to the smart contract.

**Step 4:** Send the exact ERG amount to the wallet. Since we have already covered how to send ERG via the Yoroi wallet, this step should be easy for you. Additional transaction fees will apply.

Copy the value and wallet address and send the funds to this address. Once the data has been confirmed you can click “OK”. 

## Conclusion

You’re all set. You should be able to see the following message in the Ergo Utils platform. Feel free to close the previously open pop-up by clicking “OK” if you haven’t done so already.

You’ll be able to see that 0.11 ERG were sent to your wallet and a 0.002 ERG fee was charged for the issuance of the token. The 0.11 ERG is the initial value of the NFT.

Mint Picture And Audio NFTs On Ergo

*This major auction will help fund the dev work carried out by our anons, and offers the opportunity for anyone to get their hands on a piece of Ergo history, thanks to the updated Auction House working with any Ergo wallet!*

The [launch of Ergo’s Auction House](http://ergoplatform.org/en/blog/2020-10-16-announcing-the-auction-house-nft-marketplace-on-ergo/) was a great milestone for Ergo Platform. Ergo NFTs offer additional features to those on other blockchains, and our auction back in October sold the [first ever PoW-backed NFT](https://ergoplatform.org/blog/2020-10-19-the-first-ergo-nft-auction-is-under-way/) to raise funds for developers. The NFT [sold for 1,027 ERG](http://ergoauctions.org/#/auction/history).

At that point, it was only possible to bid on the auction if you ran your own node, making it difficult for most of the community to participate. 

Now, we’re launching another auction, again to raise funds for our anon devs, who have done so much amazing work. And this time, a new service means any wallet can be used!

This auction is something a little bit different. The NFT will represent the first image of our new Ergo mascot, the Ergonaut. Featured here with his futuristic multi-tool, we’ll be seeing more of this character in due course. We wanted to sell this image to introduce the Ergonaut to the community, and mark recent updates to the Auction House.

The NFT linked to the Ergonaut will contain certain information:

* A digital monument to our anons. The token id was built from a box which contains (in its registers) the string “anon_92048 | anon2020* | anon_real”. Anons have made many contributions to the Ergo ecosystem, including ErgoMixer, ZK Treasury and the Auction House. 
* 32 bits of work (token id: 000000002306564c7b03a78b76a2ce1d9d4e748ddf462cb73cc30b48e43e6e44).
* The Ergonaut character image associated with the NFT (no rights to the concept). The token issuing box contains the image hash “059c321fad7e0b2bb474ebea46c8978d1957eb1b5f11c589e52f129d14b3bde4” in Register #8.

All the funds from this sale will go to our anon devs, enabling them to continue building cool new features for the Ergo ecosystem.

If you don’t run your own node, you can still bid on [this auction](http://ergoauctions.org/#/auction/active) using the transaction Assembler service. Click on the ‘Configure Wallet’ button in the top right corner of the Auction site, click ‘Any Wallet’, and fill in your address. 

When you place a bid, you’ll be given an address to send your ERG to. The standard rules apply: if you are outbid, your ERG will immediately and automatically be sent back to you.
