cNFTcon: Ergo on the Mainstage

As the mining world awaits the Ethereum Merge, the big question is where will Ethereum miners choose to direct their hashing power? Currently, the Ethereum network is secured by over 800TH/s. For comparison, the Ergo network is currently sitting at approximately 27TH/s. Once the merge is complete, Ethereum miners will have an overwhelming and immediate demand for a Proof of Work protocol that supports their hardware.

Zelcore wallet, the popular wallet designed for Flux, has added support for the Ergo token ($ERG). With this news, Ergonauts can now use Zelcore to interact with Ergo dApps and markets (such as NFT markets, Spectrum, ErgoPad and much more), as well as swap $FLUX and $ERG via the wallet’s Fusion feature.

A New Era for Ergo: EIP-27 Begins Today

Today marks an incredibly important milestone for the Ergo network and ecosystem. Nearly six months ago, core developer, Alex Chepurnoy, proposed an adjustment to the emission schedule of ERG. The reason for this was to extend the mining rewards beyond the original eight year schedule. In doing so, it would allow for more time to effectively develop the necessary crypto-economic security for the long-term sustainability of the blockchain.

Ergo AMA Wrap-Up January 28

Ergo Platform 2022: Plans and Predictions for the Year

The Ergo ecosystem achieved several milestones in the last year. New dApps were created, Ergo was listed on several new exchanges, the Ergo Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit, and the foundation welcomed Dan Friedman as a new strategic advisor to the board. Looking to build on a successful 2021, Ergo has numerous plans, events, and partnerships in the works for 2022.

Network Update

anetaBTC held an airdrop event yesterday and with it the hoards of airdrop hunters descended on Ergo. Due to the power of the eUTXO model & ErgoScript they were able to distribute 5000 transactions bundled into one. This transaction, when included in the block and then mined, ended up causing exhaustion on the P2P layer. The fix is now being rolled out to pools and Kushti has provided information the regarding issue.

Ergo AMA Wrap-Up, January 14

During last week’s AMA, Dan and Armeanio updated the community about THE Ergo Foundation’s initiatives for marketing, education, and exchange listings. They also answered questions from the community about community marketing, miner powers, governance in the mining community, EIP-0027, and much more!

EIP 0027 Soft Fork Proposal

There are a lot of concerns about the emission being over in less than six years from now. Ergo is committed to the principle that the total supply must be preserved. The long-term sustainability of the short emission schedule is an inherent risk to the long-term viability of the Ergo Network. We would like to create a system that offers economic incentives to miners while protecting the long-term crypto-economic security of the network. A 90% approval rate is required, which is a supermajority. Joseph Armeanio explains:

2021 - End of Year Review | Joe and Alex

Armeanio and Kushti had a discussion about everything that happened in 2021, and what we can look forward to in 2022. They discussed the highs and lows, the things that can be improved, lessons learnt, as well as the things that went brilliantly and the huge progress that was made. 2022 promises to be very exciting indeed for Ergo, as we are poised for yet more ecosystem growth.
